After more than 18 months since the last official look at Grand Theft Auto 6, developer Rockstar has shown fans a 26 minute preview of the upcoming blockbuster video game. Its "extended look" debuted onNetflix, six hours before it aired on YouTube, and was the first chance for players to see detailed footage of the game in action. The montage, without commentary or explanatory captions, shows off the improved graphics, detailed environments, and selection of car chases and gunfights of the sequel.

Illustration. The broadcast follows a week of unauthorized gameplay leaks, which the developer said were "heartbreaking" to see shared online. Having had a chance to show the version of GTA 6 that the world wants to see, here are some things we learned, and some things we still don't know.

The extended view spends a long time showcasing the relationship between protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Camino, the couple at the center of GTA 6's "Bonnie and Clyde" story. In a preview published on IGN's website, externally, the developer states the characters' stories - and how they unfold - can be influenced by the player's actions, although they can "opt out" of developing pair bonds if they wish. The Preview Netflix doesn't show this in detail, though it does show the ability to switch controls between the two characters at different points.

Praises for GTA 6's graphics are more or less universal, with characters featuring photorealistic faces and lifelike movements. Fans were also impressed by the detailed locations shown, including apartment interiors, rooftop bars and dirty underground clubs. This Preview also showcases various environments in Leonida, a fictional US state inspired by Florida, where GTA 6 is set.
