ZOAHARIAN.COM - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi explained the reasons for President Prabowo Subianto to present a number of beneficiaries at the Annual Session of the MPR/DPR/DPD RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2026).

According to Prasetyo, the presence of these beneficiaries is not just symbolic. They were presented to show directly that various government priority programs have had an impact felt by the community.

"Nothing more or less, actually this is the government's program and the President's priority program, of course we hope it will provide benefits," said Prasetyo, Saturday (15/8/2026).

He explained that President Prabowo wanted to use the momentum of his state speech to prove that the programs implemented by the government were actually producing real results in the field.

"So why was it presented yesterday in the state speech? That is to once again prove that what we are doing, the programs we are working on really do have a significant impact," he said.

The Food Sector is One Example

Prasetyo then gave an example of government programs in the food sector. According to him, improving various aspects of agriculture, from fertilizer to irrigation systems, has helped increase farmer productivity.

He said that a number of farmers who previously could only harvest once a year could now increase the frequency of harvesting to two to three times.

"For example regarding food, yes, from the President's priority program we achieved food self-sufficiency, fertilizer was improved, irrigation was improved, so for farmers this has led to increased productivity, from initially only being able to harvest once, now it can be done twice, or even three times," said Prasetyo.

According to him, increasing productivity is one part of supporting Indonesia's efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency.

A Form of Appreciation for the Community

Apart from wanting to show the results of government programs, the presence of beneficiaries is also a form of President Prabowo's appreciation for the people who have played a role in the success of various national programs.

Prasetyo said the President would like to express his thanks to the staff and community who are considered to have contributed to the government's achievements, including in the food sector.

"Yesterday, Mr. President said that apart from wanting to prove that it really has an impact, the most important thing yesterday was that the substance was that Mr. President wanted to express his thanks to the ranks in the fields that were considered to have been successful, including for example food," he said.

He emphasized that the farmers who attended the trial represented millions of farmers in various regions of Indonesia.

According to him, success in achieving food self-sufficiency cannot be separated from the role of farmers, the availability of seeds, fertilizer at affordable prices, and support for irrigation infrastructure.

"So the presence of beneficiaries or farmers is part of the President's thanks to all farmers throughout Indonesia," he said.

Prasetyo added, without the support of farmers and various supporting factors for agricultural production, the target of food self-sufficiency would be difficult to achieve.

The presence of the beneficiaries at the MPR Annual Session is also a message that the government wants to show the impact of policies directly through the people who feel the benefits.
